Torrents and Magnets
Open .torrent files and magnet links. Magnet metadata is fetched before you confirm, so the add sheet fills in the name, size and file list first.
A native BitTorrent client for macOS, with a protocol engine built from scratch in Swift.

A tri-state file tree with High, Normal and Low priorities. Files you don’t want are never created on disk. Sequential download for previewing media early.
No libtorrent, no bundled daemon, no third-party dependencies. Bencode, trackers, peer wire, DHT and encryption, all on Swift concurrency and Apple’s frameworks.
Built-in mainline DHT, peer exchange and local peer discovery, plus HTTP(S) and UDP trackers with tiered failover and web seeds.
MSE/PE protocol encryption, off, preferred or required. NAT-PMP maps your port so peers can reach you behind a home router.
A download queue with a concurrency cap and manual reordering. Stop seeding at a share ratio, a time limit, or both.
Session-wide caps plus per-torrent overrides, applied live to open connections. Fast resume across launches, with an automatic re-check when files change.
A live speed graph, peer list, tracker health and per-file progress. A menu bar item with live rates, Dock progress and completion notifications.
No servers of ours, no accounts, no analytics. Traffic goes only where the torrent points.
BitTorrent is a public protocol: trackers, peers and the DHT necessarily see your IP address and the torrents you join, and SpeedyTorrent adds nothing to that. Resume data and settings stay in your Library folder; downloads go wherever you choose.
